Ecocrackenback is conveniently located within Crackenback Valley, nestled amongst the local flora and fauna, these self-contained chalets are the ideal base for you to make the most out of your Snowy Mountains adventure.

These nature based eco sustainable buildings include cross ventilated living spaces, raked ceilings with fans and offer abundant natural light. All chalets enjoy polished concrete heated floors and clean-heat ethanol fireplaces for those snowy winter nights.

Enjoy the rural setting through the large floor to ceiling windows and back deck while taking advantage of the weber BBQ and outdoor dining setting in the summer months.

Only 10 minutes drive from Jindabyne, 20 minutes to Thredbo and 10 minutes to the Ski Tube (winter only) which takes you to Perisher, and then onto Charlotte's Pass via Oversnow transport. The Resorts offer plenty of options for a fun day on the Snow. A heated drying rack in the entry way provides a convenient way to dry your ski gear after a long day on the slopes.

Each self-contained chalet is a perfect fit for families of 4 or 2 couples with the bedding configuration of 2 king beds. There are 18 chalets on offer at Ecocrackenback so please check multiple chalets for your chosen dates.

Ecocrackenback chalets offer instantaneous gas hot water, wifi, communal laundry and are fully appointed with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Smeg convection microwave/grill, double hotplates, weber BBQ & TV.
Sustainability practices include: Worm Farm System for grey water management and food waste, rainwater collection, recycling bins provided, taps and showers are water-efficient, walls and ceilings insulated, double glazed windows, solar panels, green spaces on property.

Ecocrackenback was a really wonderful find. The accommodation is modern, clean and all that you need. The cabin was cosy warm, very private and had unobstructed views of the dramatic landscape. The location is perfect and right next to Wild Brumby Distillery which we stopped into for a delicious lunch. This was our first adventure to the snow and I really loved staying here.

Easter in the Snowies

We always stay at Ecocrackenback when we come to the Snowies - the habitats are beautiful: warm in winter and cool in summer. They are private and our 9 and 11 year old kids had an amazing time making an outdoor cubby house. There's space galore, kangaroos and deer outside the habitats. They are well furnished, super comfortable beds, good showers. Only 6 minute drive to Lake Crackenback resort and Ski tube. Tyler and Kathleen wonderful hosts - nothing is ever too much trouble for them.

Better than we had hoped for!

We loved the simple design and the cleanliness of the cabin. The underfloor heating keeps the place snug and warm. Location excellent -- easy drive to Jindabyne and other places of interest. We'll be back in the warmer months for some local hiking.

Eco villa #19 was perfect because the side living room window and bedroom windows provide views of the meadow and hillside. We saw kangaroos bounding down from the hillside every evening, and they grazed in the meadow behind the villa. We also saw deer, emu, dingo and a hilarious overgrown sheep from our window. We arrived on Christmas Eve and made a reservation to get an early dinner at the Wildbrumby Distillery across the road. The food and beverage were superb! We walked over and sampled the schnapps and gin without a care. We were fortunate that the Eco Lodge host was pulling up to the property at the same time we were, so collection of passcode was very easy. The furnishings are lovely and there was a good selection of board games to keep us busy.

Gorgeous Snowy Mountains Escape

This is the fourth time I have stayed at Eco Crackenback and number 19 is my absolute favourite. Right at the back of the property amongst the kangaroos and beautiful birds it's an absolute dream to stay at. All the luxuries you could want in an australian gem of a location. So close to the snow and such a great place to stay in summer too. Will definitely return again! Thanks! xx

Great location close to all the activities in the Mountains. Only a quick drive to Jindy and a quick walk to the Wild Brumby Distillery. Lots of amazing Australian wildlife if you are an overseas visitor. The lodge itself is really well set up for couples or families. Always find it relaxing when we stay here.

Fantastic location. We stayed in number 19 which is right at the end of the cul de sac and has great privacy. Unbelievably tranquil and such beautiful scenery. We would watch the Roos come down from the woods at dusk and then make their way past our lodge, and then first thing in the morning they would stop outside our terrace as we cooked breakfast. A wonderful place and we will come back again and again.

We stayed here in August 2017, during the "Blizzard of Oz". We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. It was so well equipped, stylish and cosy. The kangaroo welcome committee was an added bonus!

Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids eagerly returned for the second year in a row. For families this is one of the best! Easy to book neighbouring habitats with friends. Love the warmth, all the space, fab location within easy reach of all snowfields and Jindy, and the morning sunrise. Love the privacy complete with good mobile and Internet reception for weather updates - essential for planning rainy day alternatives.

We spent 4 nights in EcoCrackenback Habitat 19 and very much enjoyed the quiet location among the snow gums and kangaroos. This particular habitat is the furthest from the main building with views from all 4 sides of open paddocks and natural bush. 19 was well appointed with a comfortable king size bed and everything we needed for self catering including a convection microwave oven. Games and books are provided and the Snowy Mountains Walking Track Guide was particularly useful! It was strongly recommended that we use insect repellant during all outdoor activities - this was excellent advice! Thank you Cath and Tyler for a terrific stay.

Great location, clean and spacious

Stayed 2 nights in chalet 19 and loved it. Felt very private and secluded from the other chalets. Chalet was clean and spacious with 2 bedrooms comfortably fitting 4 adults (king size bed and 2 singles). Polished concrete floors added a modern look to the place and was great for one of my friends who has allergies to carpet / dust. Lounge and dining area was great for entertaining affording excellent views into the bushland with the full glass doors / windows. Plenty of kangaroos also at dusk eating the grass just outside. The kitchen was well equipped and next time we'll be looking to use the weber BBQ on the balcony. Across the way from Wild brumby schnapps distillery which is recommended as a must visit! Also crackenback farm restaurant nearby is very good. Only con was the separate toilet probably needs to have some ventilation and we didn't have a key to open the glass doors direct to the balcony. Otherwise the place was great and highly recommended.

This is our second time stay at Ecocrackenback! Love this place with beautiful scenery! My two boys, 7 and 9 years old always had lots of fun walking around this property! Will come back again next year!
