This accommodation is in such a great location, right on the edge of the resort. The facilities are great and the staff at Jindaybne Accommodation Centre were really helpful. We will recommending this property to our friends.
One of the best places to stayZak - 15th June 2021
Great location, great amenities/layout of chalet, attention to detail by guest services.

Great apartment in a great location. There was nothing that we did not like about this place. We would definitely visit again!
Disappointing due to adjacent building workssarah - 25th April 2021
Although the photos on the advertisement 'just' show the neighbouring development, it is not until you arrive at Snohus 1 that you can fully appreciate the implications. Apart from the porta loo and industrial fencing there is the ongoing arrival of workmen's vehicles (often parked in direct line of sight from the living room), building personnel talking and moving around in high vis jackets, for one full day we experienced a digger at work and the truck it arrived on, parked on the green verge in front of the lounge/bedroom of Snohus 1. Each day we woke to the sound of a circular saw, trench digger (on one day), trucks arriving, drilling etc. All this probably heightened by the otherwise quiet and peaceful setting that we had expected to experience. The photos really do not show the impact that this building project would have on our holiday. I do believe we should have been made 'more aware' by the letting company and perhaps offered a reduced daily rate on our booking or an opportunity to cancel with full refund. The unit itself was cosy, aesthetically pleasing and well fitted out. Although there were a number of chipped bowls and only one fork. (This was efficiently dealt with and we were informed that the dishwasher had not been unpacked after the previous tenant). I guess a cleaning issue. In addition maybe cleaning the windows and removing cobwebs would be a useful service, though with the building works that are going on I guess this would need to be done very frequently.
Mixed experienceLisa - 19th April 2021
We had a mixed experience - loved the resort, the look of the chalet was lovely, and the coffee machine was welcome. However we felt that providing just one pot and one scratched up pan was not adequate, the 'king bed' was two singles pushed together with a king fitted sheet (so not comfortable to share), the air con remote didn't work, and there were no instructions for the fireplace, so when we tried to use it for heating, we ended up with the room becoming scorching hot despite setting the thermostat to 16 degrees. The great asset of the chalet, in normal circumstances, would be the uninterrupted view of the mountains and open spaces, as shown in the photos. Unfortunately, we were not informed ahead of our stay that there was construction next door, and the view from the bed, the sofa and the balcony was marred by a very prominent portaloo lying on its side and a construction fence that had fallen over. There were other places also under construction on the same street. The agency was unhelpful and uncaring in its response saying simply that it was "out of their control". (The staff at Lake Crackenback, by contrast were very helpful, even though it was both outside their control and we were not their clients, so it showed up the uncaring attitude of the agency even more) To be sure, the agent didn't control the construction or leave the portaloo there, but they ought to have told us about the construction. I felt it was extremely misleading to conceal that information - not like it started the day we arrived. Had we known that construction was taking place next door to the chalet we would have cancelled immediately. I notice the agency has now put a warning on the ad about construction - that should have happened as soon as it commenced and existing bookings should have been warned. Lying in bed in the morning and gazing out on a prominent portaloo and fence is not my idea of a holiday view. The advertised "sweeping views" were very much diminished and we certainly did not think that the outdoor deck, next to construction, was the "perfect place" to enjoy a coffee (quotes from the real estate ad). The only saving grace was that there was no construction taking place next door while the slab was drying. There was more construction behind us, but that was less of an issue. In summary, I would absolutely visit Crackenback again but I would be opting for an onsite manager from the resort, whose attitude is vastly more customer-oriented, and I would make sure I was not near the eyesore, dust and noise of construction while trying to enjoy the glory of unspoilt wilderness in this very special area.
Perfect StayJamesL - 16th April 2021
We had such a wonderful time. Apartment was perfectly sized, very private too given its pretty much in a resort. Highly recommended
Beautiful aspectJoanna - 13th April 2021
We loved our stay at Snohus 1. The view was great, the apartment was new with high quality amenities and it stayed toasty warm. Crackenback is a fantastic holiday destination for families that offers so much.
Fantastic location and great views.Matt - 22nd February 2021
We booked this location so we were close to everything going on over the weekend of the TreX Triathlon and Trail Running Festival.
Extremely well-equippedC Y - 16th February 2021
Extremely well-equipped & comfortable. Well-supplied of almost everything you will ever need. Feels like home.
Great holiday for relaxingKim - 12th January 2021
We stayed with family and it was so relaxing! All facilities was so clean and kangaroos come every afternoon in our backyard. Livery place for families.
Beautiful property with equally beautiful backdropRuru - 11th January 2021
We didn't realise how perfect this place would be. We have two small kids who are 3 and 5. The one bedroom and sofa set up was perfect for us. Everything was clean and new. Everything we needed was available. The outlook from the back door is stunning and we were lucky enough to have kangaroos visit one evening. Having all the Crackenback amentities at our fingertips was ideal and helped to keep the kids busy. I can't wait to go back and have been telling everyone we can about this gem.
FeedbackDmitry - 10th January 2021
The property was lovely. However, I was disappointed with cleanliness of kitchen. Specifically glassware and place mats were dirty and the frying pan needed to be replaced. We found that to be disappointing for the price we paid. We stayed in January 2021.
Perfect placeNoor - 8th November 2020
Beautiful location, clean and cosy. Loved the place and the location. Every morning we woke up to the perfect view with beautiful animals all around us. Can’t recommend it enough.
We had a great time & will come back.Jeff - 22nd September 2020
Great location if skiing at Thredbo or catching ski tube to Perisher. The drive to Perisher was a bit longer than expected. Loved the apartment - very cosy after a long day skiing. Added bonus with kangaroos surrounding us!
Absolutely GorgeousAnonymous - 22nd September 2020
This property is stunning, especially the fireplace and the gorgeous large floor-to-ceiling glass in living room. Property is worth the money. Loved watching the wild deer, kangaroos and birds from our room and living room. Great for kids - they loved the open space outside, wildlife watching and snowfall. Loved the coffee machine
Perfect stayCarly - 30th August 2020
This accommodation had everything we could ask for all top quality finishings in a great location at lake crackenback, great outlook, yummy coffee. The only disappointment was the pool being closed due to covid. We would love to revisit in summer.
Great locationFiona - 27th August 2020
Perfect location at Crackenback resort. Super close to skitube for Perisher and Thredbo resorts. Accomodation was nice and comfortable. Would benefit more if images displayed on the accommodation site matched what was actually offered. No side lamps in the bedroom. No bathrobes. No wifi! Only 1 saucepan in the kitchen. Dirty cutlery, crockery and glassware. We had to put the whole lot through the dishwasher before we could use it. No hand wash in kitchen or bathroom. I would expect this all to be standard in a pandemic. It was a lovely stay, but considering this place looks relatively new, it misses some features and needs a decent cleaner to make sure it’s in an acceptable state for guests.
Excellent!Mary - 11th August 2020
Everything was great, and we had an excellent stay! We will definitely be back!
Good location but average accomodationKate - 11th August 2020
The location of this accomodation was excellent, and the resort surrounds were beautiful however that’s where the positives ended. Cutlery and glasses were dirty, there were stains/marks on the furniture which were a bit of putting, the milk provided was off, bed and pillows not very comfortable at all, dinner from Alpine Larder was overpriced and average at best. Sorry but we would not stay here again.
Beautiful home inside and outTheresa - 9th August 2020
It was not suitable for us as we were skiing in Perisher and due to COVID-19 changes we had to drive to Perisher resort which took over an hour some days - not 15min as we expected. Wouldn’t stay again only because we ski in perisher and COVIDSafe is going to restrict skitube access until further notice. Having to book and pay in advance for the ski tube makes it not very user-friendly and this will unfortunately stop us from using crackenback properties for our snow holidays.
Wonderful getaway!Paul - 5th August 2020
We had a fabulous stay at Snohus. The unit was a good size for our family of 3 (helped out by the travel cot provided), it had everything we needed, and we absolutely loved the location - Lake Crackenback Resort really wowed us.
A well located with pleasant environment cottagePatrick - 30th June 2020
The modern unit has a nice view to the bush land . Well heated in lounge and modern bath room etc . Good place to stay for small group or a young family. Also walking distance to the ski tube. We enjoyed our recent stay there . The Jindabyne acc centre staff Jaime was very helpful.
Wonderful position and outlookJackie - 26th March 2020
We made a late booking after the cancellation of a walk we were doing. The proximity of this unit to so many great mountain walks was fantastic.
Beautiful home, great locationKieran - 3rd September 2019
The place was amazing from everything from the room to the restaurant. Location was great, close to ski tube and also Jindabyne centre.
Seamless, comfortable retreat :)Michelle - 1st August 2019
From walking into the place it was an instant WOW! It was a lovely surprise to stay in a place where reality exceeded the expectations from the photos. Each time walking into Snohus, it was warm and inviting. The fire place provided a sense of comfort after a long day on the mountain. All the finishing and amenities were 10/10. The kitchen is fully functioning with exceptional utensils and pans enticing you to stay in and cook for yourself. The bathroom was great. Hot water was a little temperamental (As may be shared next door) but nothing to complain about. A couple of negatives to mention: - The place could do with some new pillows, they were flat and not supportive - No bath robes as the photo shows - Digital TV in the room did not allow us to stream Netflix These were small, and all in all tolerable things as everything else was a complete 10/10. Will definitely stay back at Snohus on our next snow trip :)
Well appointed studioHugh - 1st August 2019
Thank you for such a nice experience. We all loved it. Perfect for a getaway at Thredbo.
Stunning Location!Jann - 29th July 2019
Snohus is well set out. The outlook was amazing, especially in the morning when we had a heavy frost. The owners had thought about everything.
Modern, cosy houseAlison - 5th July 2019
snohus 1 was a pleasure to stay in, cosy, clean and spacious. Perfect for a family of 4. We enjoyed 3 days of skiing, the proximity to Thredbo and the Ski Tube to Perisher were perfect. We enjoyed the beautiful walks around the Crackenback resort. The house is so well appointed, we will definitely book again.
